About Your Coach

Hi everyone! I'm Meisha Romanow, the founder and head coach of Volo Active. Since I was younger, 11 years old to be exact, I fell in love with movement. I grew up as a competitive swimmer, but that wasn't my passion. I actually despised swimming because it felt like so much work...how ironic eh? I quit competitive swimming and started dancing competitively until my early 20's. I was fortunate enough to dance in L.A, Toronto, New York, and learn from the best in this part of my life. I learnt discipline, passion, hard work, dedication, and confidence. 
During the process of trying to become the best at the sport that I dove head first into, I lost grip of my health and wellness. I battled eating disorders, excessive exercising, and worst of all I lost the strength I had physically and mentally. I may have been where I wanted to be in my dance career, but I was nowhere near happy. I took a step back and decided to put my health first, which was not as easy as just setting my mind to it. I failed multiple times and kept pushing. 
While living in Toronto, I submerged myself in the gym life! Yes... I was terrified, but if anyone knows me, they know that when I set my mind to something I go all in. I loved strength training and shortly after, I enrolled myself into the Canfit Pro  course to become a certified personal trainer. I always had a passion to help as many people as I could, and when I started personal training, I felt like myself again. 
Fast forward a couple years, I studied nutrition putting a focus on hormonal function, sustainable living, crash diets, and the importance of gut health. I discovered how many people prioritized their external health while neglecting their internal health. Now I teach people the importance of repairing their relationships with food and the overall benefit of fuelling your incredible body to feel their absolute best. 
I have my personal training certification in Canfit Pro, and ACE, as well as my diploma in Nutrition. I believe there is no limit to how much we can learn, grow, and absorb as individuals. I'm just here to make your transition into a healthier lifestyle exciting, informative, and sustainable, with the occasional sarcastic joke provided by yours truly.
